Choose Install MailDrop, Apps → Install, or the install icon in the address bar.
After uninstall, close all MailDrop tabs and use the same browser-menu action if the automatic banner does not return.
Android Chrome
Open MailDrop in Chrome.
Tap ⋮.
Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
Confirm. Open from the launcher for standalone mode.
iPhone and iPad
Open MailDrop in Safari.
Tap Share.
Choose Add to Home Screen.
Confirm Add. Safari does not use the Chromium install prompt.
Installation diagnostics
Use HTTPS and a modern browser.
Do not use a private mode for permanent installation.
Automatic prompts may be delayed after uninstall.
The manual browser menu remains the reliable path.
Mail and API data are never cached by the service worker.
Updates: when a new cached application shell is ready, MailDrop shows an Update now action. Realtime inbox data continues to come from the network and is not stored in the PWA cache.
MailDrop can be installed as an app. When the browser prompt is unavailable, use the permanent install guide.
